Alpha & Omega Dance Academy (AODA) is a Christ-centered studio where the arts meet excellence. Our mission is to do this by glorifying God in everything we do; offering dancers excellent instruction at affordable prices; using clean and age-appropriate music, choreography, and costumes; and providing our community with a friendly, uplifting environment for dancers of all ages to grow in their potential.

It could be of you performing and/or dancers performing your choreography; be sure to specify that information as well as the general date of the performance. We are currently accepting applications for a Ballet teacher, Combo class (ages 3-6) teacher, Hip Hop teacher, Jazz teacher, and Musical Theatre teacher for the academic dance year (starting fall 2024) for AODA Fayetteville and/or AODA Raeford. Please use the appropriate forms below to apply. Make sure you note on your application which position you are applying for.

Dance Teacher

These positions are for the academic dance year, starting fall 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commit to teaching weekly class(es) for the entire academic (fall/spring) dance year, typically starting August/September and going through May/mid-June.

  • Create and teach class plans based on any studio curriculum or design your own curriculum for the class.

  • Prepare and teach choreography for the class’s end-of-the-year spring recital/production as well as choosing music and costumes (if applicable) in a timely manner and in accordance to studio guidelines.

  • Be available to help in various capacities with end-of-the-year spring dress rehearsal(s) and recital(s)/production(s).

  • Communicate professionally with owner and students/parents as needed on class behavior, information, etc.

  • Show flexibility regarding filling in for other teachers as needed.

Experience and Skills Needed:

  • Preference for those who are a member of a local church and who have prior knowledge/experience with teaching dance

  • Basic knowledge in the following: Google mail/docs/spreadsheets/etc, JackRabbit staff portal (basic training in our specific database will be provided), Spotify or other self-provided music platform

  • A desire to create a safe environment for dancers to feel welcome, make friends, build confidence, and achieve their potential through dance

  • Creative choreography that meets any applicable syllabus standards and aligns with thematic production

  • Ability to be calm and handle basic disciplinary issues with students, etc

  • Demonstrate prompt communication with the office and owner/supervisors and be open to creative and constructive feedback

  • A love and calling toward dance, ministry, and achieving artistic excellence through both storytelling and technique

  • High standard of character and friendly personality

  • References and background check required

Tentative Classes:

  • Hip Hop classes available for AODA Fayetteville and/or AODA Raeford: Hip Hop for ages 7-10 and/or Hip Hop for ages 11+, open level. Each class would be 1 hour.

  • Musical Theatre classes available for AODA Fayetteville and/or AODA Raeford: Musical Theatre for ages 7-10 and Musical Theatre for ages 11+, open level. Each class would be 1 hour.

  • Ballet classes available for AODA Fayetteville: Ballet for ages 7-10 and/or Ballet for ages 11+ level 1. Each class would be 1 hour.

  • Combo classes (ages 3-6) available for AODA Fayetteville: Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Jazz, Hip-Hop/Tumble. Each class would be 1 hour.


Part-time Receptionist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preference is 16+

  • Friendly and professional customer service — highly interacting with current families and speaking with prospective families about AODA, office hours, classes, recital, etc 

  • Opening and preparing the studios for classes at start of shift, and cleaning/closing the studio at end of shift (includes but is not limited to: restocking snacks, paper materials, merchandise; and cleaning bathroom, lobby, dance floor)

  • Responding to emails and phone calls/voicemails in a timely manner

  • Handling payments for tuition, private lessons, merchandise, and other sales, etc

  • Enrolling new students, setting up their account, and overseeing their transactions and fees 

  • Managing families’ accounts: enrollment, student and parent information, financial transactions

  • Pulling various reports, helping packaging recital costumes and labels, preparing end-of-the-year gifts/awards, and other miscellaneous recital and/or administrative preparation

  • Sending emails to parents, classes, teachers, etc

  • Flexibility regarding filling in for other shifts as needed

Experience and Skills Needed:

  • Preference for those who are a member of a local church, have experience with customer service or administrative work, and have prior knowledge/experience with dance or from working at a dance studio

  • Knowledge in the following: Google mail/docs/spreadsheets/etc, JackRabbit database and staff portal (training in our specific database will be provided), Asana

  • A love and calling toward dance and helping families feel welcome

  • A high standard of character and friendly personality!

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Must be highly organized and able to show attention to detail and follow-through

  • Able to be calm under pressure or in chaotic moments

  • Able to handle confrontation or sensitive financial matters with current or prospective families

  • Respond well to feedback and correction

  • Show initiative

  • Background Check required

Hours:

  • We are looking for someone to start over summer and work through our Fall 2024-Spring 2025 dance year. Hours are typically M-F 3:00-9:00/9:15pm and Sa 8:30am - mid-afternoon (although summer varies), plus a few weekday mornings approximately 9:30am-12:15pm. Over the summer there would be additional camps taking place in the morning/afternoon M-F. Please note these hours are tentative and would be split between our other receptionists. We would do our best to work hours around your schedule, but we would ask they be consistent throughout, vs. changing every week; please do not apply if you cannot commit to a consistent schedule.
