As impossible as it seems, recital is only a week away…. And although we hope all our dancers are excited for the big day, we also understand that performance day can be a little bit intimidating. So we want to share some tips to help you feel the most confident and prepared that you can!
Recital is in just three weeks! We’ve already given you a sneak peek of our Neverland story and introduced you to our cast, so now we’ve got a special treat for you: cast interviews!
We're getting closer and closer to June 9th, the day when we can finally show everyone what our teachers and dancers have been working so hard on. As a sneak peek, we want to share with you our adaptation of the classic story of Peter Pan and introduce the amazing cast playing the characters! And make sure you check back in a couple weeks for interviews with the cast members to hear their thoughts about playing their characters!
To go along with the summer schedule recently released and the fall schedule coming out soon we've been looking at the history of the different styles of dance. With our summer schedule out and our fall schedule coming soon, you're probably wondering which classes you should take. As you're looking at all the options, remember that it's good to step outside your comfort zone and explore other styles of dance--and our six-week summer session is a great time to try something new! To go along with the process of picking new classes, we'll be exploring the background of the different genres of dance!
Today we're wrapping up our "Why Dance?" series by asking some more of our AODA family why they like to dance and why they like their classes here. If you haven't already, be sure to check out Parts 1-3, and come back next week as we look at the history and different styles of dance!
During Part One and Part Two, we learned about the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of dance, and why we are passionate about everyone trying it out. But some of you might have been thinking, “Of course Rachel and Maria are going to tell us dance is great… isn’t that what they’re supposed to do?” So this week and next week, to help make sure we’re not just being biased about dance, we want to let our AODA family speak for themselves about why they love dance and their classes here.
Last week in Part One, we heard from Rachel (Owner of Alpha and Omega Dance Academy) on how she started dancing and why she loves it. This week we're looking at some of the specifics of how dance benefits people physically, mentally, and emotionally. So non-dancers, get ready to learn why you should dance. And dancers, keep on dancing!
In this next Blog Series "Why Dance?" we'll be sharing some of the reasons why WE love to dance, and why we believe everybody else should as well! To start us off, please welcome our very own Rachel Choi—owner, teacher, and artistic director at AODA! Read on to find out how Rachel got introduced to dance and how it changed her life.
